Chattanooga Theater Centre – A Jewel in Our Town
Chattanooga has a delightful local theatre and lots of local talent. Whether you live in or near Chattanooga or are here on a visit, it’s worth checking the theatre schedule. Who knows? You may find a wonderful place to enjoy an evening. By the way, there are plenty of restaurants close by in case you, like the Old Ladies on the Loose, wish to enjoy a fine dinner before the performance.
Location: Chattanooga’s North Shore at 400 River Street

Anytime Tickets
One of the benefits of purchasing season tickets is you have plenty of dates from which to choose. Rather than committing ourselves to specific dates in advance, the old ladies purchase “anytime tickets.” Anytime tickets come in sets of four, six, or eight.
With anytime tickets, you can pick your date for each play as the date approaches. There is no long term planning ahead. As you can imagine, getting the ladies together is like herding cats. Plans change. Trips come up. With anytime tickets we can plan a date that is convenient for everyone.
Another extra added benefit of season tickets is the Parking Permit. Buy your packet of tickets and get free parking in the Chattanooga Theatre Centre parking lot from August to August, whether you are attending a performance, shopping on Frazier Ave, dining at one of the restaurants on the north shore, or walking the Walnut Street Bridge. Some believe the free parking is worth the cost of the packets.
Now, Down to Business
Each August, we (the designated ladies of #olotl) make the ticket tour. It usually involves purchasing our season tickets to the Chattanooga Symphony, the touring Broadway plays, and The Chattanooga Theatre Centre. We call it our annual ticket tour and often it takes more than one day to get all our business done.
A special thanks to Rodney Van Valkenburg for helping us purchase our season tickets. As seen below, we wore him out trying to get all the tickets purchased for several of the ladies. (Rodney is a bit of a drama king, as you can see.)

While Rodney may have needed a break after assisting us, we — as always — headed out to celebrate our accomplishments.
As Nancy says, “It I get dressed and leave the house, food and beverage must be involved.”

A Night at a Play
While some productions require a typical stage setting, many are performed in the round. We love both settings, but there is something special about watching a play in the round, where you are on the same level with and up close to the actors.
After the play, we often meet the actors and the volunteer staff that make our Chattanooga Theatre a jewel of the community.

Left to Right: Nancy, Kate, Tawnya, the actress who played Martha in “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” Margaret, and Nathaniel.
The production was excellent!
After the play we took the opportunity to snap a picture with the director (top center) and Kim, the costume director (top right).
And, no! This is not our version of the Bohemian Rhapsody cover photo.
