Aging Gracefully

Here’s to nights I won’t remember
With friends I won’t forget.
Yeah, I’d do it all again if I could.
So pour me one more drink bartender
Let’s raise a glass to then.
Here’s to nights we won’t remember
With friends we won’t forget. The toast to my friends is from a Toby Keith song but it hits so close to home, I had to borrow it.
This picture was taken on February 3, 2022. It was the last time all eight of us were together for dinner.
Tawnya (3rd from left) has moved back to her childhood hometown in Illinois. Francine (far left) has recently purchased a condo in Knoxville to be closer to her sons. At the far end of the table, the gentleman in the gray shirt, Francine’s husband, Kevin, passed away. Since I last posted on this site, Carolyn (2nd from right) also lost her husband.
Our little group is beginning to scatter. But, I will forever have this picture from my 73rd birthday party to remember all the good friends and good times. I doubt all eight of us will ever be in the same place at the same time again, but I am thankful for the memories.
So, I raise a glass one last time to the entire group of friends.
